Terms of Service
Effective May 20, 2026 · Version 1.0
1. About Cache Scout
Cache Scout ("we," "us," or "our") is an informational software tool that helps individual consumers discover, track, and pursue checking account sign-up bonuses offered by banks and credit unions. Cache Scout is not a bank, brokerage, money-services business, investment advisor, or licensed financial planner. Nothing in Cache Scout — including generated plans, eligibility assessments, or milestone schedules — constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice.
2. Eligibility & Acceptance
By using Cache Scout you represent that you are at least 18 years old, a legal US resident, and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement. If you use Cache Scout on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business. Use of the service constitutes acceptance of these terms.
3. No Guarantee of Bonuses
Cache Scout generates plans based on publicly available offer text that you provide. Bank offers change frequently without notice and may contain restrictions not captured in the text. Cache Scout makes no warranty, express or implied, that any bonus will be awarded. You are solely responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with your bank's current, official offer terms before opening any account. Always verify requirements directly with the bank.
ChexSystems and banking history. Opening multiple checking accounts in a short period may result in inquiries to ChexSystems or similar consumer reporting agencies. An elevated number of inquiries or negative items on your ChexSystems report can result in denial of future account applications and may affect your ability to participate in additional bonus offers. Cache Scout is not responsible for any account denials, ChexSystems flags, credit impacts, or other consequences arising from account-opening activity undertaken using this service. Users are encouraged to review their own ChexSystems report before pursuing multiple simultaneous offers.
4. Tax Responsibility
Checking account bonuses are generally treated as taxable miscellaneous income by the IRS and may be reported to you on Form 1099-INT or 1099-MISC. You are solely responsible for accurately reporting all bonus income on your federal, state, and local tax returns. Cache Scout does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional with questions about your specific situation.
5. AI-Powered Features
Cache Scout uses Anthropic's Claude AI to parse offer text and generate plans. Access to these features requires a paid Cache Scout account. AI processing is handled server-side via our Cloudflare Workers infrastructure — you do not need your own Anthropic API key. Cache Scout's Anthropic API credentials are never exposed to end users.
6. Payments & Refunds
Plan generation is sold on a per-plan basis ($4.99 for a single-offer plan; $7.99 for a two-offer stack; $9.99 for a three-offer stack) or as a one-time unlimited license ($29.99). All sales are final. If a plan fails to generate due to a verified technical fault on our part, we will issue a credit or refund at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time; changes will not affect plans already purchased.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to: (a) use Cache Scout to open accounts fraudulently or in violation of any bank's terms; (b) resell or redistribute generated plans; (c) reverse-engineer or scrape Cache Scout; (d) use Cache Scout in any way that violates applicable law or regulation, including the Bank Secrecy Act or anti-money-laundering rules.
8. Intellectual Property
Cache Scout and all underlying software, design, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Cache Scout for your personal, non-commercial use only.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Cache Scout is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular bonus will be achievable.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cache Scout's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to this agreement is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost bonuses, account fees, account closures, credit-score impacts, or lost profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cache Scout, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association in Delaware. Class-action lawsuits and class-wide arbitration are waived to the extent permitted by law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time by posting a revised version. Continued use of Cache Scout after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We will attempt to notify you of material changes via email if you have provided one.
Cache Scout ("we," "us," "our") operates the Cache Scout web application. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@cachescout.com.
2. Data We Collect
Information you provide directly: First name, email address, US state of residence, pay frequency, per-paycheck commit amount, preferred bank channel, and bank history you select. You also paste bank offer text for parsing; that text may contain personal or sensitive language — do not paste documents containing Social Security numbers, account numbers, or passwords.
Automatically collected: We may log anonymous usage events (e.g., plan created, parse attempted) for product analytics. We do not fingerprint your device or sell advertising data.
AI processing: Offer text you submit for parsing is transmitted to our servers, which communicate with Anthropic's Claude API to extract offer details. We do not retain offer text after each request completes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your profile data solely to: screen offers for your eligibility, generate personalized milestone plans, deliver plan reminder emails and SMS messages, and improve the accuracy of our AI parsing. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to data brokers.
4. Third-Party Services
Anthropic Claude API: Offer text and plan generation requests are processed via our Cloudflare Workers server, which communicates with Anthropic's API. We transmit only the offer text you provide and do not retain it after the request completes. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
Payment processing: Payments are handled by Stripe. Cache Scout never sees or stores your card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
Email / SMS reminders: Plan reminder messages are delivered via a transactional email and SMS provider. We share only your email address or phone number and the specific reminder content required to deliver that message.
5. Data Storage & Security
App state (vault, plans, profile) is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. If you create a cloud account, we store your data in encrypted, access-controlled databases hosted in the United States. We use TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest. No storage system is 100% secure; use Cache Scout at your own risk.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
Cache Scout uses localStorage (not third-party cookies) to persist your session and app state between visits. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear localStorage at any time via your browser settings or the "Delete all my data" button on the profile page.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data while your account is active. Closed plan records are retained for 12 months after closure for support and dispute-resolution purposes, then permanently deleted. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
8. Your Rights
All users: You may delete all locally stored data at any time via the "Delete all my data" button. To request deletion of any server-side data, email privacy@cachescout.com.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to opt out of its sale (we do not sell it), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Submit requests to privacy@cachescout.com.
EEA / UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (given on sign-up) and our legitimate interest in providing the service. Contact us at privacy@cachescout.com to exercise these rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Cache Scout is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and, for material changes, attempt to notify you by email. Continued use of Cache Scout after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Enter your first name, email, state, and pay details. Cache Scout uses this to screen offers — it won't show you bonuses you can't realistically qualify for, and it uses your pay schedule to build plans with real, achievable dates. Your data stays on your device.
2
Paste any bank offer
Find a checking account bonus on a bank's website or in a promotional email. Copy the full offer text and paste it into the Dashboard. Cache Scout's AI reads every condition — deposit amounts, qualifying windows, direct-deposit requirements, minimum balance rules, monthly fees — and stores the parsed offer in your Vault.
3
Review your Vault & check eligibility
Open the Vault to see all your saved offers. Expand any card to view the key requirements and a quick eligibility check based on your profile. Banks you've used recently, state restrictions, and deposit-size limits are all factored in. You can save multiple offers and compare them side by side.
4
Build a plan
Hit Plan → on any offer to build a single plan, or check 2–3 offers and hit Build bundle to run them as one coordinated strategy. Cache Scout generates a milestone-by-milestone action plan with exact deadline dates, per-paycheck deposit routing, fee-avoidance steps, and an account-closure schedule that doesn't break any bank's rules.
5
Follow milestones, collect your bonus
Check off each milestone as you complete it. If you fall behind, Cache Scout shifts all future deadlines automatically — no re-planning required. When all steps are done, close the plan to log your earnings. The bank is added to your history so Cache Scout knows to protect your eligibility for future offers at the same institution.
Common questions
Is my bank account info safe? Cache Scout never asks for account numbers, passwords, or login credentials. It only reads offer text you paste. How is my data protected? Offer text is processed via our secure servers and is not retained after your request completes. Your profile, vault, and plan data are stored only on your device — never on our servers. Are bonuses guaranteed? No. Bank offers can change, and qualification is ultimately between you and the bank. Cache Scout helps you stay organized and on schedule — the rest is up to you. Are bonuses taxable? Yes. The IRS treats most checking account bonuses as miscellaneous income. Keep records and consult a tax professional. What is ChexSystems? ChexSystems (and its sibling agency EWS) is a consumer reporting agency that most traditional banks use to screen new checking account applicants — similar to how credit bureaus work for loans. When you apply at a ChexSystems-member bank, an inquiry is added to your ChexSystems report. Too many inquiries, or any negative items (like an unpaid overdraft), can lead to a denied application. Cache Scout flags which banks use ChexSystems so you can make informed decisions — we believe you deserve to know this upfront, not after a denial. You're entitled to one free ChexSystems report per year. Request yours at chexsystems.com/consumers or call 1-800-428-9623. For your free EWS report, visit earlywarning.com or call 1-800-745-1000.
⚠ Cache Scout is not a financial advisor. Always verify current offer terms directly with the bank before opening an account. Bonuses are taxable income.
